About Us

This blog is a project of Edgar Allan Poe & His Afterlives, an undergraduate class in Johns Hopkins University’s Program in Museums & Society and the English Department.

Our focus is on the work of Edgar Allan Poe as it was published in his lifetime… and its legacy after his death. What is the lifespan of a literary work, and how do works stay alive for later generations?

The class is taught by Gabrielle Dean, PhD, William Kurrelmeyer Curator of Rare Books & Manuscripts in the Sheridan Libraries, Johns Hopkins University. Please get in touch if you have questions!
